Amen

...on faith

"I sometime have a vision... I see by my side, on my left, an angel... an angel in a bodily shape.  He is not tall, but short and very handsome, his face is shining so brightly that he seemes to be one of the superior ranks of angel, that look as if they are entirely on fire.  He must be the ones named Cherubim: he doesn't tell me his name, but I am certain there is a great difference between some angels and others, and then again between those and some other kind, of a sort that it is not possible for me to explain... it is not possible for me to explain... it is not possible for me to explain..."

The word "amen" is a declaration of affirmation, found in the Hebrew bible and New Testament.  It has been generally adapted in Christian worship as a concluding word for prayers and hymns.  Common English translations of the word amen include verily, truly, so be it and let it be.  The trilateral root (΄mn) means to be firm, confirmed, reliable, faithful, have faith, believe.
